About Jane Gibson
I'm a professional counsellor based in Letchworth, Hertfordshire who is dedicated to helping individuals navigate life's challenges and achieve personal growth.

Choosing a counsellor is a personal decision, and it's important to feel comfortable with the person you're speaking to. I aim to offer a warm, calm and supportive presence, where you can feel safe to talk openly about whatever is going on for you.
I work with adults who may be feeling overwhelmed, anxious, low in mood, stuck, or struggling with relationships or life changes. Some people come to counselling with a clear idea of what they want to explore, while others simply know that something doesn't feel right. Both are completely valid starting points.
My Way of Working
I work in a person-centred way, which means our sessions are guided by you and what feels most important to bring. I believe that feeling genuinely heard, accepted and understood can be a powerful part of change.
My role is not to judge, advise or tell you what to do, but to support you in exploring your experiences, emotions and patterns with curiosity and compassion. We will work at a pace that feels right for you, and you are always in control of what you choose to share.
What It's Like to Work With Me
Clients often describe my approach as calm, thoughtful and supportive. I aim to create a space where you don't feel rushed or pressured, and where there is room to pause, reflect and make sense of things together.
Counselling doesn't require you to have the "right words" or to know where to begin. We can take things one step at a time, focusing on what feels manageable and relevant for you.
Training and Professional Standards
I am an Accredited Registrant of the National Counselling and Psychotherapy Society (NCPS), a professionally trained counsellor who works in line with ethical guidelines, ensuring confidentiality, respect and professional boundaries at all times. I engage in regular supervision and ongoing professional development to support safe and effective practice.
If you have any questions about my training, experience, or the way I work, you're very welcome to ask.

Taking the Next Step
If you're considering counselling and would like to find out whether working together feels right, you're welcome to get in touch for an initial conversation.
This gives you the opportunity to ask questions, share a little about what's been going on for you, and decide whether counselling feels like the right support at this time.
